I don't know about anyone else, but I love the Simpsons because it's one of the most well written and subversive shows on television. It's not as good as it used to be, but even at it's worst it's better than 99% of what's on TV.

I've grown up with the Simpson's
I started watching the show when it was only just clips shown on the Tracey Ullman Show.
I love it because they subtly (and sometimes not so subtly) bring up and poke fun at political and societal issues.

Absolutly and Futurama by one of the creators of The Simpsons. Futurama is on the Cartoon Network.

Becauase many of the situations they have to go through as a family are the same we have to, not only in US, but in many other countires aroung the world. Is like picturing us in a cartoon. To start mention me a state that doesn't have a town named Springfield, well may be in Alaska there isn't, but What about the rest? You see what I mean?

simply coz its funny...
and is aimed at adults and children, which means that the fan base will be larger than the regular cartoon shows
