Money is a intermediary value holder used instead of bartering. two people will not always want the service/items of each other at the same time. Money is a common denominator that facilitates the transaction. If I fix roofs and you sell cars, a deal can't be made unless we each need what the other offers. Money allows me to buy a car when I want/need to and you to fix your roof when you need to.
