I have a MSI K9N Platinum motherboard, 2 GB's of DDR2 memory, 2 500GB hard drives all less than 2 months old and I have a new AMD 64 X2 5200+ processor. I have not had any problems burning CD's/DVD's in the past until I installed Nero 7. Now every time I try to burn anything my PC shuts down when burning process starts. I disabled my DMA settings to PIO and that stops the shutting down but I obviously can't burn correctly. Here is a list of things I have tried.
-Bought new CPU fan and Arctic Silver thermal grease
-bought new Ultra 550watt power supply
-reinstalled software
-Checked all Driver's, firmware,bios,software,etc...for updates
-Installed new antivirus,spyware software
-Installed system mechanic 7
-Installed info.log's but nothing registers before shutdown
-Bought new surge protector
-System restores
-Nero, MSI, Microsoft help sites
-Made sure I'm not overclocking
-trouble shot all hardware devices
-disabled Nvidia IDE Drivers and only used MS drivers

Any Idea's

They don't usually run DMA, and using it can cause them to malfunction.

Why not disable the DMA?
