It is fine. The doctor had me on Lorcet Plus when i was pregnant for my back pain and migraines. My son was born healthy. If you take it like the bottle says then you will be fine. Good luck, congrats and sorry you were in a wreck

I was on bed rest in the hospital with twins. One sack was ruptered and the other wasn't. I was able to keep the babies in there for an additional 4 weeks after the rupture. You would be amazed at the different drugs that they gave me. Everything from Valium to Vicodin. My boys are 4 1/2, beautiful, smart and awesome. As long as it's prescribed and you trust the doctor, I believe you and the baby will be fine. Call your ob to ease your mind. Congrats on the baby.....so glad you're both safe and unharmed! -Ramona

Pregnancy
Teratogenic Effects: Pregnancy Category C: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen tablets should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Nonteratogenic Effects: Babies born to mothers who have been taking opioids regularly prior to delivery will be physically dependent. The withdrawal signs include irritability and excessive crying, tremors, hyperactive reflexes, increased respiratory rate, increased stools, sneezing, yawning, vomiting, and fever. The intensity of the syndrome does not always correlate with the duration of maternal opioid use or dose. There is no consensus on the best method of managing withdrawal

No medical advice from me, just personal: I took Vicodin when I was four months along due to a severe case of shingles, and my daughter was absolutely fine. I think it would not harm your baby at all, my only concern in a case like yours would be that the baby might still have the medication in her system at birth, and could possibly cause depressed breathing.

I am sure it is safe, but if you find that now it is not so bad then do not use. It will not make you better, only feel better, --which is a good reason to take it if you're hurting. Opiates taken as directed as OK, you'll probably get something a lot stronger when you deliver.

I was given percocet for migraines around my 3rd month because I couldn't take anything else. Most painkillers are generally safe during pregnancy. I was also given percocet during another pregnancy for migraines from doctors in a teaching hospital.

if you can possibly withstand the pain then i would say no, just in case i mean if ANYTHING at all was wrong or even "different" when you have her you know you would blame the vicodin right? and youd blame yourself so i wouldnt unless you cant stand the pain. good luck

Its OK, in moderation... so only take it when you need it... if its a mid head-ace that you can live with, that I would suggest not taking it and living with the discomfort. If you take it everyday, there is a possibility that your baby will become addicted to it when she is born...
My advice would be to only take it when you REALLY need it.

If your doctor gave it to you, you would think he would know, but I've found that doctors these days will write you a prescription for anything you ask for. Personally, I wouldn't take them. Try a Motrin from the drug store.
