That is a good question. Giving that Tight End from the NY Giants the big bucks is hilarious. He's not even as good as the guy they cut.

I have to agree with a couple of posts before this, with the vikings it would seem that they are waiting for the draft to see what they get, I like the signing of Vinny Ciurciu as a special teams ace next to Heath Farwell that holds that for the Vikings right now. I am not so sure on the TE (maybe he will surprise us and be able to catch in the middle of the field), and Bobby Wade was a fill the spot signing (we do have a Carter that is a 2nd year, Minnesota and Carter is almost always gold for WR, look at AC and CC). Troy will not scare people until he is able to catch the ball and Billy is a good possession receiver as Bobby will be in the slot.
I would like us to sign William James (Eagles CB), and a RB or draft the top player available I really doubt that CJ will be there at 7 but the amazing safety (LaRon Landry)will be.

The Vikings are just doing what a lot of teams try to do this year, fill some holes on their team that need quick fixes. They must do some of these now before the draft so they can get their list together to strengthen the team permanently. I think they have the cap room to be flexible in free agency, that is why in your opinion you say they are getting bad players. It is not the players so much that they are looking at, it is the way they fit into the team and if they can adapt to the teams offensive and defensive schemes. I think the scouts and decision makers know the talent of the players they selected and are just hoping they can fulfil their potential.

Rosenfells is a competent signing, to start. he's an somewhat able, if unspectacular, QB. It feels like the two the Vikes are thoroughly dedicated to Jackson, or are going to draft a QB early. Minnesota grew to become into thirteenth in factors allowed in '08, and 6th in yards allowed. they're nevertheless sturdy. the only genuine improve they might desire to make is at S, in user-friendly terms because of the fact Darren Sharper is getting long in the enamel. WR is a delicate concern. they could no longer decide to commit as lots money this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, whether it does not advise they might't get high quality gamers. The draft is often the superb place to get extra bang on your greenback. unfastened company may be extra of a guess than the draft, and maximum blunders are very severe priced ones. in basic terms stay affected person... the season hasn't even particularly began yet.

I wouldn't necessarily say they're picking up bad players. But they are definitly over paying. They're paying top dollar to put average players to slightly above average players on their roster. They trying to fill holes with a quick fix. It only works in the short term and puts yourself in salary cap pergotory. Or as last years case. It actually didn't help the team at all.

they are all willing to party on a boat with hookers and keep their mouths shut. The perfect teammate. Oh yeah, that and noone want to play for the Vikings regardless of $. Just like Carolina, 49ers, Texans, Tampa, etc. Hell plummer would rather retire than play for Tampa bay.

two words for you - RICK SPIELMAN
The man helped tear down the Dolphins
A 2nd round pick for AJ "pick-6" Feeley
traded Adewale Ogunleye to the Bears for a 3rd round pick and Marty Booker
Traded the 3rd round pick to the Rams for Lamar Gordon
I could go on and on.... as long as Spielman is in Minnesota, you better get used to these types of deals.

Not alot of big names, but not necessarily bad ---but one thing that pissed me ---Bobby Wade @ WR when Kevin Curtis is still out there??!!
I think they should pick up Donnie Edwards as well...lord knows they need help in coverage, and he's the best coverage LB in the league (course he stinks at run-stuffing, but the rest of the team was good at that).
