My most special memory is about a Small black neighbor dog, that used to come and see us .We would feed it and play with it every day.My dad didn`t let us have any 4 leged animals,so this one we really loved.Well for some unknown reason to us kids she didn`t come and see us all of a sudden but 2 weeks later she did.She acted strange though.Kind of like Lassie. She would motion and bark at us to follow her.We finelly did and low and behold she wanted to show us her Puppy`s.She even let us play with her puppy`s.That was my special moment .

I remember bedtimes the most I think. My Dad used to tell 'When daddy was a little boy" stories about all the things he had enjoyed when he was a kid. And instead of lullabies, we would often fall asleep to the sound of Dad playing Eagles songs on his electric guitar and singing along (not too well mind you), lol. I still have a deep love of loud music.

the most special memory of my childhood i would say would be that i never figured i be sitting one day on yahoo answers and see all the stupidity that goes around here and it ticking me off. yeah, other then that my childhood was good. no internet, no computer back then, out playing with friends, football and other games. and i don't mean ur stupid for posting this question but going around in other sections, its just depressing how stupid the people have become. Have you seen the movie IDIOCRACY, well its about to come true.

I have special memories of growing up. Right this minute, I don't have a story on my mind to tell.

I'm interested in and distracted by your sentence. Does anyone else have an opinion on the use of effect and affect in this particular sentence?

*************************************************************

I'm interested in hearing stories that people remember about growing up and in learning how recalling and telling their stories effects (*effected*) (affected) (or affects) them.

usage: Effect and affect are often confused because of their similar spelling and pronunciation. The verb affect usually has to do with pretense . The more common affect denotes having an effect or influence . The verb effect goes beyond mere influence; it refers to actual achievement of a final result . The uncommon noun affect, which has a meaning relating to psychology, is also sometimes mistakenly used for the very common effect. In ordinary use, the noun you will want is effect .

Main Entry: affect
Function: transitive verb
to produce an effect upon: as a: to produce a material influence upon or alteration in b: to act upon (as a person or a person's mind or feelings) so as to effect a response : influence
