Phut - There is nothing wrong with her except she is a slob
What does she need NHS help for its simple -If she stops shovelling food into her mouth she would lose weight and get better - Why should the NHS (e.g the taxpayer) pay for any treatment for this?
She will not get any pity from anyone - And does not deserve pity - If she ate 3 meals a day like most other people she would be OK
I say the NHS are in the right (for once) - She needs to help herself!!!

I think this woman deserves NHS help, after all we offer help to those with anorexia or bulimia - so whats the difference it is an eating disorder.
Someone is obviously bring her food to her and I think they could help by reducing portion sizes and making the food healthier. But if she doesn't get the food she craves she suffers panic attacks - which at that size is worse than for some one of normal size.
I used to work for a mental helth hospital which is now closed but one of the wards has been changed into an anorexia - bulimia ward, surely its discrimination to not give help to someone at the opposite end of the scale.

There is an obesity gene (on Chromosome 8 I think) but no one knows how it works so it is difficult to know whether excessive overeating is the only cause of obesity or whether there is a biological predisposition towards it. Also, why do people not question the celebs' hitting size 0 - do they not know they are getting unhealthily skinny? We could also question why alcoholics, drug abusers and self-harmers do what they do as it is all harmful stuff.

I saw this woman this morning. she put me off my cornflakes I can tell you...O.K she was depressed so she ate and ate. Went to her G P he gave her tablets that had side effects..She was provided funding for THE PRIORY no less. Three months later funds ran out and she went home. Then starts the bloody cycle again, and of course it's someone else fault....She has four children for god's sake. What on earth must THEIR life be like

She has been offered help to loose the weight; followed by medical intervention when it is safe to operate on her; what more is supposed to be done.
If it were down to me I'd leave her where she is and spend the money on those who could benefit from it.
On the local news last night she was eating a bowl of soup and 4 or 5 slices of buttered toast for lunch, so obviously she's trying REAL HARD to loose weight isn't she

I hate fat people, they say that they are unhappy but they then go and pig out on fatty foods. There is no reason for someone to be really big now adays.
It causes so much health problems and depression that you would think they would take notice sooner.
When Im talking about fat people, its not someone who is 14 stone thats just over weight and we all get that way some times in our life.

There are lots of things people do that may put them at a higher risk of requiring help from the NHS...smoking, drinking, riding a motorbike, cycling without a helmet, skiing....come on, we all do it, and we would all expect help from the NHS.

From what I have heard the woman is bed ridden. How can she be eating so much unless someone is feeding her.

Who is feeding her? Whoever it is should get professional help for her instead of killing her! Shame on them.
