Or is there a more positive way to deal with it? Should I tolerate the bullying with the hope of overcoming the vulnerability with time?

Well, I am not a child. I am an adult. I find people, especially adolescents, do not take me seriously and make fun of me.

If you stand up to the bully, I bet he won't pick on you anymore.

Just be strong and tough and stick up for yourself. Dont let anyone push you around. A positive way to deal with this is to talk with the bully (at least make a good attempt depending on the person) and maybe try to resolve the issue this way.

I used to have this sort of problem in the past and I just stand my ground against these bullies and I try to resolve it and if that doesnt work than just walk away from the situation. If they continue to bully you than try to ignore them.

You can not avoid people because they are everywhere. Change your perspective on the way you see yourself. Do you work out? If not, lift weights. Not for a physical confrontation. But it will give you a surge of confidence from a mental stand point. Your outlook of yourself will be different. A major reason why bullies are prone to 'attack' certain people is because they are sensing a lack of confidence in them. A lack of confidence translates to 'weakness' in the eyes of a bully. You will carry yourself differently and there will less antagonism from the bullies.

You don't sound like a kid...so I'm trying to understand. We must be talking mental manipulation here. In any case, if you don't stand up to the bully it will get worse. It's as simple as that. There is no way to "tolerate" it, because you'll just be more uncomfortable with low self-esteem. Good luck.

Unfortunately, the only way to get around this is to lay him out. You find the fastest, most brutal way to make that person go to sleep in front of a crowd and the bullying stops right there!

Kids are terrible. But if you stand up to a bully you may get your butt kicked once but that will likely be it. A bully doesn't really want to bother with a kid that fights back.

I am sorry, the best thing to do is see if there is someone who can make that bullying go away. And if not just stand your ground (not fight) ignore him and show him it doesn't bother you. Sometimes it makes them push harder and if it does just ignore it. But avoiding him will make him laugh and want to do it more.

You will keep being bullied until you tell or do something to make them back off. How and who is bullying you?
