Indian people are from India. Native Americans are called indians because when Columbus arrived in a America, he thought he was in India. He didn't know he discovered "new" land. That is why Native Americans are still called "indians". Most Native Americans like to be called by their tribe name.

Generally I mean Native...other times, if not, usually I'll just clarify that I mean India-Indian.
