I am from Venezuela, South America, last month I had this horrible test, because here to be able to get in a college you must pass a very hard test... so the test I took was the one for engineering. This year, the aspirants were just too many, we were 25,000 students, wanting to get in. And only 700 would be able to.
Well I just found out like 5 minutes ago that I didn't get in. So I am very frustrated, I feel just sooo stupid. I can't help crying... but many of those kids had a preparation for about 4 months, which I didn't, and most of the things that they put on the test, I had never seen before, because in my hs, we were left without a math and a physics teacher for like 1 year and a half...
I feel bad, because I feel like I let down a bunch of people, i feel like they believed in me, and they thought I was very smart, they respect me. But I guess that will be over.

Listen, you had no business trying to go to school for engineering. You have not taken the classes you need as a base for college level classes. But don't worry, if you are really as hot as you say you are, you'll find a good man.

I have recently went through a situation that caused me to feel that I let down a lot of people. It has been a couple of months since the incident and I have still not recovered fully yet.
Now that you have taken the test, you have a better idea what your weaknesses are. Now you can study some more and take the test again. Next time you will do better; because, you will have studied and practiced at problem solving in areas that you were previously weak. I hope that you have better luck in the future.

Dear Latina, you are great, you are beautiful, you are wise, you are smart, you are the greatest person in your own universe. You are only responsible for you, and only responsible for how you feel. You are not responsible for how anybody else feels. So acknowledge yourself (y su excellente inglese) and study for the next test...or consider another field, or perhaps go to a junior college. Is the math important because of math or some other discipline? While it may take longer in school if you go to a JC you might transfer to another school later and get your training there. Keep looking for alternatives. A smart woman like you won't give up this easy.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Apparently, you didn't have a math and physics teacher. So don't feel bad. No one is perfect. You may be smart, but doens't mean you're going to get everything and do well at everything. My lady is good at academics, but not in music. So, don't feel bad, girl. Hey, the important fact here is that you tried, ok? I'm sure you'll succeed someway. Good Luck!
