Couldn't agree more but you'll be surprised at how many excuses they have for it!
There's an obvious difference between a typo error when someone is rushing to answer and being ignorant of any spelling conventions. Unfortunately, I think that the level of spelling is so poor that even spell check can't work it out- or the writer just doesn't know what the correct word is!

Copy whatever your getting from the Internet to Word, then do normal spell check there.

i don't spell check things i type, unless i really don't know how to spell it. i've read the dictionary before when i've been bored so i don't think i have the worst spelling. grammar though.... well mine's terrible. i slack on the punctuation, capitals, and many other things when i type on the internet.
i will never, ever, approve of replacing letters with numbers though.

Yes, do it in Word. Highlight the word/s you want to check and hit F7. Grammar check is included. When you don't highlight, default is checking the whole document.
