Is there such thing as middle-age crisis? What is it?

Will we experience it? at what age?

ok, this is psychology subject, but i prefer it here in the Philippines.

They say that life begins at 40. But i would say that when you reach the peak of your lifetime, it slows down. This is the time where you start thinking again what have you done and what have you got. You refuse the fact that you are getting old, and try hard to stay young in your looks, in your lifestyles. You become selfish and forget that you already hurt your spouse until a time that your marriage bond is in danger.

For men, it happens around the ages of the forties and fifties. They tend to ditch their wives, get a girlfriend who is about half their own ages, and buy a sportscar that is intended for a guy who is about 21 years old...ususally, a convertible. It's like they are trying to prove to themselves and the world that they are still "young"....that they still are every bit as good as a younger man.

For women, the suddenly realize that they've spent their lives being subservient to a man who doesn't appreciate them, and a bunch of kids who just keep demanding more....no matter how much she has sacrificed for them, already.

So, she suddenly starts craving those lost years.... She dresses like she is 18, again. Tries to get boyfriends who are much, much younger. And, often turns into a barfly.

It's just plain ole sad, no matter the gender. Don't let it happen to you!

this is the point in someone's life where he/she likes to do things that they haven't done before when they were young. ages ranging from 38 to late forties. people who are in this crisis tend to cheat fro m their spouses and wants to live life to the fullest for they think that they're getting old and they have to do something new and exciting to spice up their life. they want actually a major change in their life.

It's explained by astrology. It's when you have a saturn return. In other words it happens when saturn returns to the same placement it was in when you were born. It's quite accurate too and explains why it's at a slightly different time for different people.

it is the feeling of self worthlessness for women...you feel you haven't achieved anything and you're doing enough to the people around you.It feels like everyone is against you,trying to figure out what you want to do in your life.Its a seemingly lost feeling of hopelessness,unworthiness,unappreciated...the list could go on.It usually starts when turning 40.Most of us will experience it,usually women (I could speak for myself),but these passes,but I don't know for how long (I'm still experiencing it)
