n ultrasound machine uses pulsed wave ultrasound ...so the waves are entering the uterus is short metered bursts ...this is completely safe . Its not as if these sound waves arent around you now. They are... the transducer just creates these waves at ONLY the specific level , or MegaHertz, needed to perform the test and focuses them in a beam that goes from the camera into your womb . It's a very cool piece of equiptment , and most people don't realize that the sound going into your belly is created by an array of crystals atop the scanhead :-) No documented biological effects have ever been noted from the safe used of pulsed wave diagnostic ultrasound.
There are concerns about continuous wave ultrasound causing heat that could , in theory , warm the fluid around the baby ..however use of continuous wave ultrasound is very limited . The doppler your Dr check the heart rate at the office is continuous wave , but that only takes about 2 minutes ...so not enough time to generate heat. It would take 30 minutes or more of this continuous wave application to cause a heat issue. That is why most OB's will dissuade pregnant women from buying hand held dopplers for home use . Its not that it WILL cause a problem , its more " Why risk it ".
You're in great hands ...enjoy your images :-)

Perfectly safe. I am currently 8 1/2 months pregnant with twins and am 31 years old. This is considered a high risk pregnancy and I have gotten an ultra sound every 4 weeks from the beginning. Look forward to getting them....it's amazing to see the development from 1 month to the next.

Ultrasounds do not cause any problems for the unborn child. That's why doctors do them instead of x-rays, which can be harmful.
