Jean Claude Van Damme actually changed his name after becoming an actor. He was born Jean-Claude Camille François Van Varenberg. So it's just a coincidence.

Van Damme is not either of their real names. And RVD chose his name because of his similar appearance to Jean Claude and also do to his martial arts style wrestling.

there is no relation between the two. rob's in ring name is spelled rob van dam. his real name is Robert Alexander "Rob" Szatkowski
