Marine Gps Units? Best value units that work good for inland waterways, in Louisiana!?

Magellan or Garmin......like Chevy or Ford, you like one or the other but there's not that much difference between the two..........

if there's the slighest chance of getting lost if the GPS fails..and they do; they get wet, the battereis run out, you drop it, the dog chews it.....keep a paper record.....like on a chart.......
