I received a letter in the mail stating that I won 50 grand. I was instructed to cash a check that was included with the letter and then they would release the hold on the rest of my winnings.

I noticed the envelope was post marked from Canada. The Letter was from Best Way Processing Center located in the virgin Islands. The enclosed check was from a company called Kaplan Early Learning Center which is in North Carolina. All of these are red flags to me. Has anyone actually received the 50 grand? Or is this a big scam?

My Bank (Navy Federal) Advised me not to cash the check. I also wrote to reader's Digest because the letter stated that they got my name from Their Publisher's Clearing house data base. They told me that they are not affilliated with Best Way Processing Center. Also, did anyone else find it funny that the drawing was held in Dublin Ireland?

the answer to this question is yes it is a scam. I did alot of research and found out that the checks that came from the lighting service are stolen and mass produced and mailed in a mass mailing scam. What the guy from the accounting dept told me was some one stole a couple of checks mass produced them and then mailed them out the checks will bounce and come back to bite you and then you will be out 2962 of you own money. does not sound right what you are suppose to do is pretend to cash them and then call the company that the check came from and let them know where and who you are suppose to send this to so they can find out who is behind this but they are asking that you destroy the checks and make sure everyone in your comunity knows this is not real so make sure you use a little common sence here and not do it be a crusader and help find these people who are hurting the real companys that do this to help people. like the publishers clearing house and they are also making it harder for compesated fundraisers to do there job because everyone is afraid of gettin ripped off and some of those charities do not get to make money any other way then by what they get on the phone calls they make so please help stop this fraud

Dear Amy,

I too have recieved a letter from best-way processing center, stating that I have won 50 grand. After cashing the check I felt very uncomfortable with the response over the telephone i got from Edward Nelson, Meagan Green, and Ana Gorden.

They wanted me too send the money western union to some place in N. Carolina. I really want to go through with this because who knows maybe there is a 50 grand in there. I just dont want to go through the rest of my life not knowing what could have been.

So I guess you can say I will be the dummy for everyone else to see if this is really true and i will write you back to let you know how it turns out. Wish me luck!!! I HOPE THIS IS FOR REAL FOR THEIR SAKE!!!
