It all began when he was in his fourth week. Let me also tell you he was three weeks early. I go through a whole range of things to calm him. Like bath, message, walking withhim in the middle of the night. Singing, Talking, Cuddling! It seems he has to go through this cycle of fussing & crying every day. At first it used to be during the night, then the time shifted to early mornings and today it lasted the whole afternoon. Once the fussing begins it lasts for about 3-4 hours, in between he takes a break rather gets tired and dozes off, then something or the other triggers him. I know for a fact that there is gas, I hear his tummy rumble, and when he passes gas it seems to hurt him, and he winces. I breast feed and suppla, ment(Good Start Nestle). At night I try any one of them, it seems he gets worse when tring to suckle in those spells, he is unable to latch on because he is frustrated ... I am so tired and plus feel helpless and it tortures me mentally to see my darlingbaby suffer

Your baby might be allergic to the formula or even your breast milk. You need to go to the doctor and tell him what is going on. Also he might have a digestive problem with the food as well as he may be a caulic baby none of wich you can fix thru here you must take to doctor could be little could be big problem.

My son was like this too try a little brown sugar in his bottle. It will clear it right up. My grandmother always swore by it and finally I gave in one night and it was a little under half hour later and all was good.
EDIT****
I tried to email you but it was returned
I used about 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar to a 4oz bottle (formula ones only that was where the problem seemed to be as it stopped when I did this so I never tried adding it to breast milk)You might need to change your formula if it continues you can get free samples of Similac and Enfalac online so you don't have to buy a bunch just to find he doesn't like them just make sure to give him a break between different ones or the problem will come back. do a search for baby freebies a bunch will turn up I use to get samples from huggies and pampers too.

Sounds like you've tried just about everything. If it were me, my next step would be to call his pediatrician to be on the safe side. Especially if the fussiness and crying is lasting for several hours. It could be the usual fussiness they go through but it could be something more.

I had the same happen with my first child (I'm preggers with my 3rd).Every night from 9pm to about 12am she would cry and there was nothing I could do for her. When I took her to the doc I was told she had colic. The best thing to do was swaddle her and hold her close, even if she cried harder.Sometimes sitting in the bathroom with her swaddled and the shower running would help her.

Just letting your baby boy know you're there for him is the best thing you can do.If he starts to refuse the bottle or breast take him to the doc he could be having other problems.

Hope this helps.Good luck and God bless!!

My baby (11 weeks old) does this about twice a week and we just put her in the car and go for a ride and she falls right to sleep! We only have to go about 4 blocks and she is sound asleep.

Sounds like colic. Check with your doctor. As a mother of 4 I can assure you colic is something you have to work around. Snuggles that carry the babe against your chest are great. I was lucky to have a doctor that was a natural path as well as a G.P. She gave me Chamomile Pellets for my colicky babe. I just put one on his tongue and it melts right away.

Stop drinking milk and see if that helps. Sometimes fussy babies are sensitive to the cow's milk their mother's are drinking and they in turn get exposed to it from the breastmilk.

If you are supplimenting with formula give him Gas drops(mylecon or storebrand) right after you feed the formula this will help him pass the gas before it builds up on him also try lying the baby across your knees/thighs and patting either his butt or back
