I THINK natural is best,
but I do read that a lot of plebs(celebs)
have them for vanity reasons.
hope your daughter gets on OK.

Hello. You don't explain what health problems she has, but is it because of high blood pressure/pre-eclampsia, or diabetes?
For those who have the option, the safest and healthiest method for both mother and baby is natural. Obviously, in an emergency, a caesarean can't be avoided.
When a baby is born naturally, certain hormones are triggered. After a caesarean, when these hormones haven't been triggered, there can be problems with feeding, when the baby is 'mucusy', and is reluctant to feed.
For the mother, after a caesarean, she has to rest for 6 weeks, not being able to drive a car, do heavy housework (mind you, when you've just had a baby, that's the last thing on your mind!), or lift anything heavier than the baby. Pain relief is also a problem. Another problem can also be a feeling of detachment, and slow bonding between mother and babe. The use of spinal anaesthesia can and does help with bonding.
However, many women who have a caesarean for health grounds (for themselves or their baby), feel enormous relief when it's all over.
I wish your daughter good luck, a speedy recovery and a healthy baby. Will her partner be with her?

I ended up having an emergency c-section due to placental abruption. Apart from the charge down the corridor to theatre and the sound of a baby crying literally a couple of minutes as we burst through the doors (they had to get him out in a hurry) which completely threw me because I'd had no idea they had even started it was all OK. I didn't have any further pain relief after the epidural wore off and I was out of bed and walking to the loo (very slowly, and bent over!) by about 5pm and he was born at 3:23am and sent home on day 4. The not driving for 6 weeks was a bit of a pain, but not hoovering or anything certainly wasn't!

I had a horrid natural birth with my first little girl and suffered after for a long time....second baby was an elected c section after the consultant didn't want me going through a repeat delivery and I had only had a spine op a year before...C-section was done within the half an hour and all went well, very relaxed and controlled and the staff delivery baby were excellent, spent about an hour or so in recovery and came home on the second day after surgery. If its because of health reasons like mine was then I would say yes......the main aim is for mum and baby to be as safe as poss....all the best for you all.

I have had 2 natural and 2sections,the 2 natural damaged me down there so much that I had to have corrective surgery after the second.(the hospital messed it up but too complicated to go into)My first section was very painful the second was a piece of cake. The best thing is that the babies are soo beautiful with a section and have no birth trauma.Do not stress too much,I would go for sections every time(not that there will be another though)

I had one c section followed by two natural births. It longer to recover from c section but this was ok as I only had the baby to look after, had the c section been third it might have been harder. I dont feel any differently about my kids because of the way they were born. When I was in the hospital there was a stupid woman who told me I must feel like my son was not mine and that I must feel like he had been given to me. Rubbish! So long as mum and baby are both healthy it does not matter how they come out.

there is no better option, Its about which is necessary.
I had them both and they were both awful, childbirth on the whole is painful and too much for a woman to bear, on one of my many times in labor, I would wish God gave the men the pain instead. its no treasure when your cervix is opening to 10 or when you belly is being slashed to wide open.
Its all very painful, and there is none that is better that the other pain is pain.
They both carry bad after pain, they both make you feel pain, and they both make you weak.
People say natural but why then, man getting knowledge to take a woman out of pain.
Hey to bare unnecessary pain is gruesome.
I strongly believe childbirth should not be travailing, but then again the creator made it so!
But I believe any ease you can get should be well appreciated, and it usual is at that time.
None is better, just which is right as to save lives.

Hi, Natural is best, but under certain circumstances it is necessary to have a C-Section,it's a longer recovery proceedure because of stitches/clips. my Daughter has had to have two because of Gestational Diabetes, the last one just over a week ago, but she was awake through this one & was home last Thursday (baby born on the Monday). good luck to your Daughter with the birth of her baby

I had both and the vag. delivery was easier to recover from. I had 2 c sections and they hurt alot for the first couple days its hard to move or anything, But the sonner she starts walking around the better she will feel I was back on my feet the 2nd day with my first and the same with the second. Congratulations!

Only a doctor should be answering this question & I'm sure it depends on the individual & the specific issues of the pregnancy.
If you're not sure that her doctor is giving the right advice she should get an opinion from a different doctor also. I would suggest that the 2nd doctor is not one that the 1st doctor knows.
