What's the cruelest thing you've heard someone say about gays/lesbians?

I think the meanest thing I've heard is the person who told me, "I don't hate them, but if one of them was dying, I don't think I'd give them mouth to mouth."
This struck me as a cruel thing to say.

I guess I should have added this: Why are people so cruel?

the worst thing was from a family member.That they would make a spreate hell for gay people. I and my gf walk out after that so did the rest of my family but that 1 person

I havent actually "heard" many cruel things. But I saw a videotape of the last attempt at a gay pride parade in Latvia, where the people got actual human feces thrown at them and several got beaten.
That struck me as incredibly cruel.

Many of the people who are cruel just have a lot of repressed anger and emotion that they have no other outlet for. Remember the late '50s in Arkansas? In Little Rock, when those 9 black kids got integrated into the white school? There were frenzied mobs of whites there screaming, throwing rocks, spitting, etc etc. Those kids got treated horribly inside the school as well by the students (who are adults today). (The book "Warriors Dont Cry" tells their story. Its a good book, I recommend it)

Those people are still around, but its not acceptable anymore to hate blacks, so they turn on the next minority, gays, mexicans, etc. etc.

Its not about the individual thing that they claim to hate (except maybe in the case of repressed gays like Ted Haggard), its about the inner hate they have.

Thats where the change has to be made, in the hearts of these people, because parents pass that kind of hate on to their kids.

I've heard alot but I had an online discussion with someone about gays and was spewing his own brand of hate towards the gay community. I asked a question similar to the comment you heard: 'If you were having a heart attack and the only medical professional available was either gay or lesbian', this individual stated that he would rather die than have this medical professional touch him.

Real twisted of this person if you ask me.

It doesn't matter... all prejudice is ugly and cruel. I'm a married, straight woman with blonde hair and light green eyes, and a number of my friends are gay, lesbian, black, Asian... I think that hating people based on ignorant assumptions is ridiculous. That's why I only have real problems with white-power skinheads, televangelists, Nancy Grace, and some Republicans, but not all. I still love my parents.

Yea it is a cruel world. Gays are people and they can be cruel too. No one is excluded and there is no excuse. Humans are not civilized and is why the world is being destroyed.

Anyone who would say something like that and mean it,would say cruel things about anyone,including their mother.Ignorance is their problem.I believe that we are all equal here,even in the eyes of the Creator.My pastor use to say"there is a special hell for people like that".(I am refering to the one who made that remark.)People say harmful things without even thinking about what they said,it will come back to haunt them.Peace!!

i remember being a junior in high school.
getting bashed all the time and being called names.
there were these 2 guys that really were very mean to me.

a few years later , both of them were having sex with guys
and they knew i knew about it.

time does things to people.
