do you mean that sometimes it takes days for your period to start? like it is very light, maybe a little spotting off and on for a day or two and then nothing... and then the gates come pouring open?

yes it can be normal. sometimes that was my body. it could also mean that if you have been sexually active, you are having a miscarriage. most of the time we miscarry and not even know that we were pregnant because it happens so close to our normal cycles.

if you have not been sexually active, check with your OB to see what the problem may be. s/he would be able to diagnose you properly
