I think the turf up there will tear up his ankles. It hurt to watch him try to run last season. I'll think he'll play well, but he will only play in about 120 games this season.

No, simply because this is his first season as a Blue Jay.

If the question were phrased "Will Frank Thomas have another great season in his first as a Blue Jay?", and I'm guessing that's what you mean by asking the question, then I have a few things to consider before making my answer. First, his 2006 wasn't great. It was good, but not great. Second, he's getting on in years. Only crafty pitchers are capable of having great seasons when they're pushing 40. Finally, there's the matter of having to face the Red Sox and Yankees much more often than in any one previous season. My prediction on how he'll fare in those games is the Asian pitchers will give him trouble while he'll feast on the rest of both team's staffs. I hope I'm right about Matsuzaka, Igawa, Wang, and Mussina, and I hope I'm wrong about everyone else on Boston and New York.

Overall, expect a slight decline from the '06 numbers, but expect another good season. It's way too late in his career for greatness.

Desi Chica, you need to learn some things before you start yelling at people. Frank Thomas has had a hard time keeping his foot healthy on normal grass and dirt while playing DH. Now if he has a hard time running around the bases on a normal field, it's easy to imply that he will have a much rougher time running around on the artificial turf, which provides no cushioning at all. Congrats, you just made yourself look like the idiot. My guess is that he will have a mediocre season.

I have no idea who Frank Thomas is. But if he can make the Blue Jays make it to the playoffs then he wil have a great season and help the Blue Jays win a lot of games this coming season.

There is no reason to think that he won't. Leaving the White Sox gave him new life. I thought he would stay in Oakland but I guess the money was too good to turn down in Toronto. The Jays will have a good year this year and a lot of the reason will be "The Big Hurt"!!

first of all, the Blue Jays are in an exceptionally difficult branch and nevertheless have a triumphing season it particularly is noticeably sturdy. the only ingredient i might do is improve the offense slightly. Vernon Wells is premier the group with in basic terms 20 HRs, it particularly is unhappy while a collection in basic terms have one participant with 20 or extra HRs. The pitching is there with Roy Halladay, Jesse Litsch, and B.J. Ryan. Couple extra potential hitters to go alongside with Vernon Wells could do it.

After watching Big Frank for the last 15 years or so, the answer is no. I wish it was different, but this man is physically falling apart. Staying healthy most of last year was a surprise. But I just don't see him staying healthy. And if they start calling the inside corner on him, he is toast.
He was the best hitter of the 90's. His stats show that. But right now, and his horrible running ability, he will hurt this team.

You guys are idiots! What does the turf have anything to do with him? He's going to be the DH which means he doesn't have to play on the turf he'll just be running around the base paths! If he is injured it will be some other injury like a pulled hamstring or something. If he stays healthy he very easily could hit 35-40 HRs with 100 RBIs.

The "Big Hurt" has a couple of good seasons left in him. He will do fine this year.

He'll have a solid season if he can stay healthy---which might not be easy on that rough turf up there.
