I think he needs Moss and Moss needs him. Someone was saying about remembering when Culpepper went down hill. I said yeah right when he lost Moss, they said that they agreed and admit they just hadn't realized it. The Dolphins should seek Moss if they really want Culpepper to be their QB. I think Culpepper was really just being benched last season and they CLAIMED it was about his injury acting up basically.
Oh and I remember them talking in the Season Opener, my Steelers vs the Dolphins. As they put it Culpepper wasn't that great as far as intelligence. Not their words. What they said though was that Culpepper would have the line tell them who they couldn't pick up so that he would know where to look for the guy coming in. That kinda indicates he can't read the D. Mind you I think it is a better idea to have the line tell you who they can't pick up(that way you can watch your recievers instead of looking to see who will come in). After all the QB doesn't always know who it looks like isn't being picked up but suddenly really was.

I'd question that intelligence part you stated. In fact, that was the knock on him since his rookie year, not able to read defenses well at all. When he had Moss, Carter, and Smith at their peak he really didn't have to, those guys were making plays. As you saw the last few years in Minnesota, without the play makers Dante isn't much. Makes bad reads, turns the ball over a lot. His biggest asset was his mobility. With that injury he had, even when he's back 100% he will have lost a good part of what made him a decent QB to start with, that mobility factor.

I wouldn't brag about his intelligence...it's widely known Cris Carter ran the huddle in Minnesota. Culpepper actually hurt his knee two years ago and rushed back from the surgery. Part of the reason Min traded him was he refused to work with their trainers in their facilities. At Miami, there were reports of him working out with a physical therapist in a strip mall...the team has the worlds best medical professionals yet he wanted to work out with a strip mall therapist...hmmm. To me, it seemed his injury wasn't progressing as it should (probably due to not doing what he should have been) and he wanted to hide it from NFL teams...and he returns to the field and is obviously hobbled. Gets reinjured and is done for the rest of the year. Having no work with Miami WRs for about a year along with the new coach and the loss of McMichael, it doesn't look good for Daunte in 2007. I predict the team trades up in the draft to make a grab for Quinn, since Cleo Lemon will not set the world on fire and they cut Harrington, although he may resign for less money. No question Miami is in deep trouble.

No, it is because he had major surgery on his arm, and rushed to come back too soon and played subpar...
