The effective use of medical terminology is essential to the performance of job duties in health professions because the can be many similar layman terms and descriptions to explain symptoms and treatments that need to be discribed in very, very specific terms. You don't want to just say you have a 'hematoma', you or a consulting physitian would need to know if it is Subdural, Subarachnoid, epidural, perichondral, or cephalo-. All of which have very different causes and treatments.

Well, think about this. You go to the ER because you're sick or hurt. The doc tells the nurse to give you a shot or send you for a test. The nurse better know the terminology or you could be in big trouble. You could get a test or a drug you don't need. You could miss something you do need, or you could die.

Sounds pretty serious to me.

An entire paper? I can sum it up in two sentences.

"For the same reason the effective use of Spanish words is essential to living in most Latin America countries. You and the people you work with have to have a common language in order to communicate."

There's no way to make an entire paper out of this, without fluffing it up with mounds of BS.

technical language occurs in every profession, the correct use of terminology is important as the words have very specific and explicit meaning in the context of the workplace, using them correctly avoids misunderstandings and ambiguities

Every discipline has it's terminology, whether it be medicine
or sport. For the simple reason that there is nothing else that is descriptive.
