man, kobe overrated?
why do you man give a damn about those haters!?
selfish? can not do it without shaq? raped a girl? what!
kobe, is the best! people called jordan selfish when his team sucked in the late 80's! i do not see all of you bringing this up to him!
and.... shaq would never dreamed of moving to the finals without the presence of penny in orlando, kobe in LA and wade in miami! all respect to the bigg fela, greatest center ever!
and regarding the rape thing, comon, how many girls gays or even men, tried to get something out of a story with a famous person? comon! and we are talking hoops arround! kobe will prove all of you wrong, this year, and the next year, if the lakers should do some good shooping, well watch out!
if the lakers are in the east, def. the topp seaded!
people now like to see wade, lebron, chris paul, fans and expert always try to look forward, but still, for me, the top 5 in the league are:
kobe, vince, tmac, kg and shaq! and all are now shiffted aside! now u see people loving lebron, like he is the next thing!
but for lebron to happen he needed tmac kobe and kg, cose they stepped up before him to nba straight up!
no doubt LBJ is the lord of the rims, i would love to see these two going at each other in a final, but hey, cavs are way far!

I don't think he's overrated, his problem is his off the court issues and the fact that he's always being compared to Michael Jordan. If the Kobe vs. Jordan thing would've become such a daily debate, along with the rape case and feud with Shaq, no one would talk about Kobe being overrated. Kobe is great, one of the greatest ever...and probably the greatest SG second to Jordan, but second by a very very large margin. Comparing him to his peers though, you could place him as the best player to perhaps the 3rd best player in the league today. His only rivals are Dwayne Wade and Lebron James.

I'm so tired of people saying Kobe cant win it without Shaq. Shaq didn't win anything without Kobe or D-Wade, both are similar players. If Shaq doesn't have Kobe or D-Wade then he has no rings. If people think Shaq won his ring last year because of himself then why was it D-Wade took over in crunch time for the Heat and not Shaq. Who was named MVP of the finals? D-Wade.
To answer your question - Kobe is not, in any way, overrated. He has by far been the best player in the league over this decade. No one is even a close second. He is unguardable. 90% of the double teams people throw at him are unsuccessful.

can you name anyone who won an NBA championship on there own!!
not even the greatest of them all won a championship on his own. he needed Pippen.
he's the most complete player in the league right now. he can shoot the ball from any spot on the floor. he can play D. and he's a finisher.
he has 3 count them 3 rings already.
you wanna talk bout overrated hype you gotta bring up Lebron. has been in the league for over 3 years now and he cant finish games and carry a team on his shoulders. thats a superstars role.

Although I don't like kobe i don't think he is overrated he knocks down game winner after game winner and can simply carry a team but he can be selfish but what superstar isn't?

yeah kobe's good...but has he ever given La a title on his own? i doubt that...he needs shaq to do that...kobe is a go to gut but there are such things as go to only guys...he's a superstar but if he doesn't cause the team to act more cohesively...thats his downfall...the direct opposite of this guy is Nash..lol

2: His basketball style is very selfish. He play both the role of PG and SG. Really self oriented.
But one thing i need to tell, although i don't like him, his performance is better than last season.

He didn't rape the girl, they had consensual sex. She just wanted money so she made up the story. Did Kobe ever get convicted? No, because there wasn't any evidence supporting the girl's story.
