See if a hospital is hiring anyone. Even if you get in doing candy-striper (basically volunteering, or an internship) you will gain the experience doing some basic things, like filing, answering the phone, etc. They usually have a certain time period that this lasts, and then you might be able to get hired on.

I did this when I was fifteen and I worked the switchboard, the information desk, filing, and I brought patients to different areas of the hospital.

I know you need the money, but this is extremely valuable experience, and it will look great as part of your work experience down the road.

Are there any smaller businesses that need office help for a few hours after school? You could actually pick out a few and go there in person and ask if they need help. Again, even if they can't pay you immediately, they might hire you on in a few months. You could even ask for a three-month trial period or something, they teach you the ropes, you do well, and in three months you prove they need you, would they hire you on?

Otherwise, try a restaurant. At sixteen you can be a server assistant, or busser. Some places might let you be a waitress, but usually you have to be 17 or 18 to serve alcohol. But with these jobs, you make fast money and meet a lot of people, which can be helpful when looking for other work.

Good luck, but keep in mind, any job experience you get at this age is beneficial. Go for it!

If you are unskilled and young the mind-set should be not to be very choosy. Know what you want to do in life and accept jobs that are in line with that even if it is a low-level job. I worked for 5 months without pay just to get the necessary training and now I have a great paying job with a lot of perks. Remember that experience is important.

I did this to make money inbetween my job searches.

I am a huge believer in showing proof of payment. Thats why I have pics of checks I have been paid, a 1099 Tax form, etc. on my site for all to see.

I have found several legitimate work at home sites so far, and I made $500+ in October, over $700 in November, $900+ in December, and $700+ in January. They are free to join.

Please click my screen name or avatar for more information and a link for proof of payment.

And by the way--never join a work at home program that wants you to pay up front. If they were making that much money, they wouldn't need to charge you.

Well you're pretty young and probably don't have the experience companies are looking for. Get yourself educated first, take some classes on the type of field you want to work in first. A lot of people have started out in the mail room and worked their way to the top.

We all have to start somewhere.

A teacher once told me you gotta start at the bottom. Because if an employer sees that youstuck it out at a place liek Mcdonalds for a few months hes gonna see your a good worker. Because fast food is a hard place to work so it will only show good thigns about you.

If you want to work in an office, you will probably have to start out as a receptionist or something. Just look in the classifieds or online for jobs in your area.
