I would consider a couple courses at a University, and/or getting in touch with someone else who has a successful homebased business under similair circumstances, even if you don't know them. They would probably be happy to help.
The basic steps are, finance (get money, loans), invest (buy the things you need to start), then operate (produce and sell)...
Depending on the level of activity your business would have, you may want to take an accounting course or find a small business owner who would like to let you in on how they do things.

I recommend Forever Living Products - you can do as many or as few hours as you like and typically on 1-2 hours a day you will earn £1200 per month after 5 months and £30-£40k per year after 2-3 years - if you do more hours you should get more.
