my husband of three years is sueing me for a divorce so now Ive gone & obtained an attorney to counter sue him. I dont work outside the home but I do babysit my grandson for a very small income.Ive endured mental abuse through out my marrage. he knows I cant pay for a divorce. thats just one of his ways of taking me for everything I got. I need info. on spousel neglect,cruel & inhuman treatment. he has made my life intolerable.

Sunflower, You need not worry any longer. You can go to the Supreme Court and file for an uncontested divorce under cruel & inhuman treatment. And here's the thing you can also waive the fee by filing a poor person application. Just show proof of a letter that your income is very low. All the necessary paper will be in the package free of charge. And if you have children by this marriage he will have to pay child support. You are missing an important fact. If you are still married, you can use the common assets to pay for your own attorney. At this moment, half of what he has is yours. And he can't hide the money because lawyers can dig them out.
At the end, both sides lose money. If you have no money to pursue, neither does he.

u should be entitled to something is everything in his name? he will have to pay alimony to u if you are a stay at home mom, and his income exceeds yours. as the courts today don't always take this into consideration in divorces anymore, most states have this no fault divorce, which isn't really fair, but that's how it is. get a good attorney, he maybe ordered to pay for your attorney.
