I have very fair, translucent skin and I love the Loreal spray on self tanners, which you can buy at CVS,Walgreens,Target,or any drugstore.I love that it looks very natural and doesnt smell as bad as others.Be sure to scrub first and put lotion on elbows and knees.Good Luck!

You can go to Walmart...they probably have the most for the cheapest price. Neutrogena sells one called Build-A-Tan where it starts off really light and you apply until you get a tan color you like. If they have it, buy a pre-sunless scrub and exfoliate so dry skin doesn't pick up more self-tanner. If you cannot find a scrub, use a loofah to help remove dry skin. If you do not do this, dry skin will turn darker than the rest. Remember always to spread the lotion evenly in a thin layer or spray on evenly if you use a spray. You can use a sunless tanning application glove or simply use your hand. Remember to wash your hands so you dont get them "carrot-ty" colored. Avoid knees & elbows as they tend to darken because of dry skin. As for face, buy a product that says for face. They even sell regular lotions now with a hint of self-tanner in them, this may be a good idea for the beginner as it wont tint as much and takes a much longer time to show heavily. Also a good idea for face...they sell them for face too. Finally, if you mess up, you can buy a Self-Tanner remover at Sephora or online. It is made by St. Tropez and costs about $15 for a pump bottle, but you probably wont need it if you start lightly. Hope This Helps!!!

Youre best bet is to go to a tanning salon where they offer a spray on tan. You just watch a video that shows you whats going to happen, you put on a few little garmets and stand there while a cool machine makes you look like you went on a cruise. You do not look orange at all!!! They are great. Usually when you buy a session they give you another for free. It's relatively inexpensive and gives you a good tan without the risk of skin cancer or the risk of messing up an at home self tanner. This way you get a flawless tan head to toe. I really really suggest looking into this, its awesome!!!

If you're in Toronto, you can go to shoppers drug mart, if not walmart sells self tanning lotion. Another place is Trade Secrets/Glamour Secrets. Most self tanners streak or smell bad or stain your clothes. Get one that says streak free...don't put too much on your knees or elbows...make sure your wash your hands and in between your fingers right away...if you're new at this don't put any on your face until you get used to it. Self tanners can cost 6 bucks to 50 bucks. Another thing you can do is get regular body lotion and mix some make up bronzer in it...that's the cheapest way to go.

Oh my! Self tanner take some practice, they can be messy, if you use it too often you can look orange. If you do use a self tanner be sure to wash your hands right away, and be sure the tanner dries before you put your clothes on, so you won't stain your clothes. Good Luck!
