I'm AMAZED that no one has answered this question yet !
I finished up my first round of IUI using Clomid and the Ovidrel injection.. didn't work. Sometimes they say third or fourth time is a charm... go figure. Anyways...at day five... yes, that's normal. See, the Clomid has been in your system for the five days what it's doing is speeding up the process of developing mature follicles so that you can ovulate early. I don't get that you started your Clomid on day five... usually people start it on day two, three or four... regardless, it's a normal to have the three follicles. I had four ! Three or four are to be expected... and the "norm", if you will. Injectables are the next "round" of treatment, and you usually don't do that until AFTER a few attempts of IUI plus Clomid, which is what you're doing now. Now, the stomach injection that you take following the Clomid... don't psyc yourself out on it. Honestly, if you have any bit of bellie fat at all, it doesn't hurt. I was freaking out about the whole needle thing but once I bit the bullet and did it, it was EASY.. and i'm a fainter with needles !! Also, just be aware... since you have tree follicles developing, depending at what length they are, they can be close to maturity already BEFORE you do the Ovidrel injection ( which is to speed up maturity of those follicles ) and those already near mature follicles can "burst" making it "no good". It's never a guaranteed situation but it's better than nothing.
They said that mine didn't work because sometimes if the 23/23 chromosomal count doesn't match up.. say there's 22/23, the body will naturally not allow conception..but if a conception occurs, an uneven match of chromosomes can result in problems like down syndrome and the like.
Good Luck !

Hello! I am on 50 mg of Clomid and i take it CD 5-9 like you. I just had an ultrasound today day 10 of my cycle and I only have 2 follies on my left and none on my right, I should be takeing the Ovidrel shot tomorrow. They just want to make sure that my follies measure at least 20 before they give it to me. This is my 5th month on Clomid but only my 1st month being monitored like this. You sound perectly normal to me. Good Luck on getting a Big Fat Positive soon!!!

it particularly is been a on a similar time as on account that I had IVF, yet i think that your Gonal-f and Menopur injections are meant to added stimulate follicle production and mature your eggs. attempt to no longer complication nevertheless. as quickly as I had ICSI in January of 2007, they only harvested 11 eggs. Of the 11 eggs, a million replaced into immature. Of the ten they injected with my husband's sperm, in basic terms one did no longer fertilize and initiate having cellular branch. so they had 9 fertilized eggs to artwork with. they chosen the two maximum suitable, injected them, and a pair weeks later my blood try got here lower back helpful that i replaced into finally pregnant, and at my first pregnant ultrasound, which replaced into 20 days whilst they placed the eggs lower back in, i found out i replaced into pregnant with twins. i did no longer have as many eggs as are suitable once you're taking part in the numbers interest, yet all you pick is a million to get pregnant on the top of the day. it particularly is a protracted, drawn out technique as i'm particular you have got here upon by skill of now, yet do no longer lose wish, and consider out to no longer complication too plenty. i'm no longer able to talk plenty on account that i replaced right into a frightened injury the great time till i eventually have been given the call that my being pregnant try replaced into helpful. So whether you in basic terms have 7 eggs to artwork with whilst they harvest, you have a sturdy danger of each little thing going as planned. stable success!
