In college terms, I now what a major is, but what is a minor?

a minor is like an emphasis in a topic. you take about half the classes that would be needed to get the major. so you have an education and understanding about it, but not a huge total mastery of it.

for example, im majoring in marketing, im minoring in spanish and getting an emphasis in entrepreneurship. yeah...im gonna be here awhile :/

minor courses are designed to complement your major course of study and provide you with the opportunity to gain some experience in subjects of interest to you
