Did you see those billboards that say don't F with TX? I bet it's the worst place next to Oklahoma to get caught with drugs! If I remember correctly it's a zero tolerance state. Do a yahoo search for Texas drug laws. One to Four grams of what?

Waaay too long.

Last I heard, possession of a ton or more of marijuana (I think as little as like 100lbs even) was 99 years to life, in Texas (my former home state). Meanwhile, killing a cop was like 25 to life.

So, note to self and all, if I'm smuggling drugs through the Great State of Texas and I'm about to get busted, kill everyone who gets in my way, because I'm going to jail for the rest of my life anyways.

Often for a first drug offense involving mere possession there are sentencing alternatives available which allow you to avoid a criminal conviction. You may wish to discuss your options with a local criminal defense lawyer.
