Braxton hicks is the indication that your body is getting itself prepared. There is no harm in going overdue - your body will be doing a little bit more panel work on the baby until its ready to be born!!! We are all different. The due date really is an estimation only. Miraculously it can be spot on for some and way off for others.
I went 2 weeks overdue with all three pregnancies. - You wont - I haven't met anyone else yet that went that far overdue!!!!
Your labour can begin at any time - just go with the flow and get as much rest now as you can TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!!!!

Well, you can try the good old sayings....take long walks, have sex, drink castor oil. All of these things might make your contractions come on strong, meaning that it will bring the baby down and thin you out. But they aren't always going to work. I had braxton hicks and was dilated a cm and slightly thinned out for a month before, and I was 10 days late! You can't make your baby come out on time, most don't. I ended up having my labor induced. Good luck!

I know you don't wanna hear this but I'm gonna tell ya anyway. The baby will come when it's ready. I had my baby 1 week past her due date and when she came out, the doctor said she was right on time so that goes to show she knew when she was ready. I know it's hard but just be patient and enjoy your last days of pregnancy because believe it or not you are gonna miss feeling your baby moving around in your tummy. Also, get as much sleep as you can cause once the baby arrives, there isn't gonna be alot of that happening. lol. GOOD LUCK & CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Don't rush it! Let nature take its course. I had labor induced with my daughter (I was 5 days late) and I will NEVER do that by choice again. My son's birth was a breeze compared to my daughter's. Being induced INTENSIFIES all the contractions and it was awful. So what's your hurry? You'll have plenty of time once the baby is here. My suggestion....get some extra sleep while you can!

You can't!
You can try some natural ways of bringing on the birth though.
1/ Have sex
2/ Go for a loooooong walk
3/ Eat a hot (spicy)curry
But, seriously, enjoy the fact that your little one is going to choose his/her birthday. I think that is the best part! My son actually came on his due date! There is like a 9% chance of that happenning apparently.
Hope all goes well for you!

there is nothing you can do. However, if the doctor thinks you are getting too far past due they can induce (sp?) labor for you. I hear this is pretty painfull though. I really wouldn't worry too much about it. Stress is bad for the baby. It will happen when it happens.

Going overdue isn't a big deal. Due dates aren't an exact science.
Of interest:
"You might be surprised how the idea of a 40-week pregnancy came into being. In the early 1800s a German obstetrician simply declared that pregnancy lasts ten moon months counting from the start of the menstrual cycle prior to the pregnancy. (2) It took nearly 200 years for researchers to investigate whether this was, in fact, true. It turns out that it wasn't. When researchers in the late 1980s followed a group of healthy, white women with regular menstrual cycles, they discovered that pregnancy in first-time mothers averaged eight days longer than this, or forty-one weeks plus one day (2). The average was three days longer than forty weeks in women with prior births."

As my doctor told me, " When the apple is ripe; it falls from the tree"
Your baby will come when it is time.
You can walk a lot to help the baby get into position.

you are able to help your spouse devour nicely and take supplementations to grant your infant the terrific danger. different than that, there is not something you're able to do. maximum issues that must be "incorrect" might actual be desperate already if she's some weeks pregnant already. by potential of how - i will rather lots assure you will not have a "suitable infant." no one does - yet we like all of them.
