when I asked my brother for getting a girlfriend (he has a girlfriend), and here's is what I wrote in the email, I paraphrased it to condense it.

"Are there any pointers on to getting a girlfriend? I never had an intimate relationship nor have a big amount of female friends. Just because a female is your friend, that doesn't mean that she will become your girlfriend. I know that 1st appearance matter so I will stop biting my nails permanently."

He is in college while I am at home. I emailed that email since Feb 10, 2007 and he didn't reply. When he got home, I asked about him about it and he said he didn't replied to it since he didn't know what to say (aka, he thinks it was wierd). In my opinion, he's the wierd one. The relationship between my brother and I is that I never talk to him (online or phone). AKA, our communication is dead.

Some brothers are just like that.

My advice is you stop biting your nails (girls don't like ratty nails) and just be yourself. If being yourself means burping and farting alot then you should try to stop that too :) Girls aren't big on those things either. Just be yourself and relax. Getting a girlfriend is not the end all, be all. Let nature take it's course and I'm sure you will meet a nice girl that likes you too.

I wouldn't get into anything "serious" before the age of 25 since before then you won't really know who you are. Spend your youth learning about yourself, and what you like, and the girl of your dreams will find you.

Relax and be yourself.

Don't take it so personally. You are being too sensitive. If he doesn't want to talk to you go ask someone else
