Does anyone know someone who has a small business that succeeded over the internet, and if so, how did they?

my boyfriend is the one of the people i know who succeed over ebay. He first have an amount of $5000 then he bought old laptop that've been broken and try to fix it again, then he sold it on ebay. But he knows alot of people and his friends helped him to contact to someone who sells cheap laptop if u buy a large amount like 100 laptops...then he sold it with the benefit of 40 dollars more from the original prize for each, so he earned like 5000 dollars a month or so

Not really, promoting over the internet is like having a million signs
that no one can see unless you point at them,
its mostly word-of-mouth advertising that did it for the
the business I know of. the one I know of is so simple, that you'd think it couldn't succeed, but it did. first of all what is the product of your business, if there is a need there, is a demand, its just a matter of letting the world know you can meet their need, at a good fair price. But remember the key in the beginning is advertise, advertise
, advertise.... in the right manner, like doing a great job for those who choose you, or dropping off cards and making your self known to those who could use you, or putting adds where
people will for sure see them, not in the internet where
only a select few will look and see. Having a small business
is no picnic, but you are free to do what you want every day.
Just let your self be known by your work and your availability,
you do that enough and you are bound to succeed.
