I have tried all the prescription meds, and therapy. I don't want to depend on a substance to shake this depression, but I'm constantly getting sad and crying for no real reason. I'm happy with my current life for once. I'm bi-polar in the second phase, and suffering from insomnia, because I worry too much. I used to smoke pot to sleep, but I recently quit. I also have angry and happy outbursts frequently.

I went through some depression a couple years back, tried some meds but they seemed to level me off too much. It was like being half-aware all the time. I had to quit em.
The way I quit being depressed was to make myself busy. Busy people arent depressed, because they have things they care about and stuff to do. Sitting, moping, waiting, sleepingmakes you depressed and its impossible to stop without drastic changes.

I started 2 online businesses, got a weekend hangout, and took a tennis class at the local community college. My time has been fairly caught up in the success of one of my businesses, and now I have a gorup of people to play tennis with.

It really makes life better for me, and im happy.

DO NOT: 1. Turn to religion to solve depression, thats not what it's there for. 2. Get into a relationship to solve depression, doesnt work. 3. Continue with your lifethe way it is, it isnt working for you obviously, so go out there and change at least 1 major aspect of it.

You may have a B-vitamin imbalance, which can easily be solved by eating more bananas. I read an article not too long ago about the versatile uses of bananas against depression, anxiety, insomnia, PMS and a couple other non-related symptoms. Smoking pot, while useful against sleep deprivation and an unsteady metabolism is only useful when underlying stress goes unmanaged, and that is only to say its useful in forgetting what the original problem is.

Stay focused and have a goal. As long as you have something to strive towards, you won't have time to ponder on depressing situations. Surround yourself with inspiring people. Put an effort into going out and doing fun things. Enjoy life. Enjoy it.

Do what dr drew would say.
Stay off pot, and go to AA or MA and develop a support group and then when the pot gets completly out of your system u wont be so depressed. as for bi polar, I give up,dr drew . com might have a clue.

no, no, no. some of them giving you is wrong.

if you want to get rid of your depression problems. I must suggest you to make new friends... if you don't have pet, then get one.

in addition, if you don't know who person you will get laid on one night stand, it may cause you more depression.

keep yourself busy... find something that will keep you busy, why not try, writing poems? play some sports, go shopping, pamper yourself to a salon or a spa. Go out with your friends...watch a good movie... Learn to dance?try ballroom dancing... i did that.. it worked

i know exactly how you feel. the only thing that really helps me not feel so down is getting drunk and going dancing, jogging, ... and thats it. i heard that johns wort is supposed to be a good mood elevator. dunno how true it is tho.
