How can I get my first book published?

First-the required scolding. This question is asked about five or six times a day. It is not an original question. The search function at YA is a beautiful thing. It would do folks a lot of good to use it.

Second:
If you want to publish a book, you will most likely need an agent. Major publishing houses will only work with agents (this helps them weed out the crap). An agent is a professional in the industry that can help place your book with a publisher. The International Women's Writing Guild provides members with a list of agents looking to work with new women writers. I've included a link below.

An agent ONLY gets paid if they place your book. An agent that asks for money up from or changes for expensive add-on services is a scam.

Many small press publishers do not require an agent, but they will throw out unsolicited manuscripts. They just don't have time to read every would-be author's masterpiece. Instead, you should send a query letter. Your query letter should briefly explain your idea, who you are, and request their submission guidelines. The publisher will then inform you how to submit the manuscript. FOLLOW THEIR DIRECTIONS! More writers shoot themselves in the foot by trying to be "unique" than any other reason. I once had a writer submit a story on flourescent pink paper in red italic garmond font (14 pt). I asked her why, and she said she wanted to stand out. I told her she stood out like radioactive waste. The document was unreadable and I returned it to her unread.

Writer's Digest, The Writer, Poets & Writers, and other magazines normally have monthly lists of publishers interested in works. Familiarize yourself with these publications. They are highly worthwhile.

hi how ru , well to get publish ur first book u may contact to publishers in ur city, and try this site www.helphub.com and www.nccl.com, plus u should go to editor office and talk to him to publish ur book and give ur book to the editor so taht he will read and tell u the right things but if he will select ur book to publish the u will give some money to him because when he will publish ur book he will take a money for printable papes, cover chares, printing charges , some givt tax, etc so just beware ., one thing more may be some publishers tried to get more money from u so take help from ur teacher or family member so that u will be safe from chitting and go toeards the nice and reputed publishers it may be fine and suitable for u .bye best of luck for ur future

Send your contents to the good publisher based on the subject of your book. If they will consider it they will definately print it. Or you can publish the first issue by your own expense through an authorised publisher of that subject & see the market response.

Start by getting yourself a lawyer who specializes in copyright law. Make sure your work is properly copyrighted, then submit it to every publishing company you can find. You should be able to find a list of them by doing a google search.

hey u first u can write ur book on pages make it corrected by an intelligent man or woman then u can reach by a gud writer of bhopal..ven he or she will read ur book & thinks that it is a gud 1 to b published then he'll provide u the allowance , then u can make ur book to b published then u can publish ur book in whole of bhopal....
