in MS word, usually there is an option for inserting numbers, you can check it from the toolbar menu under Insert -> Page Numbers..
it is all clear inside it, click also on the format button to get more specifications

You can do one of two things ( I had to find this out when doing a lab report myself):

You can create a section break before the first page that you need to get numbered, then you can have MS Word insert page numbers, it will do so only for the next section, i.e. pages 3-10

Or you can do it the simple way, which is to simply create a separate word document for the first two pages. However this only works if you are prinitng out the document.

Hope this helps!

I've never figured out how to do that! What I always do, is I put the first two pages (in your case) as a seperate file. Then, I put the major part of the document with page numbers (so it starts at page 1 where you want it to), and I print both files!

Take your cursor at the end of page 2

Click Insert Menu -> Select Break -> Select Next Page from section break type

It will add rest of your pages to the second section (in some views it does'nt show anything on screen )

Now go to the 3rd page where u want page # 1 to show up

Click View manu -> Select Header and footer

Click Insert menu-> Select Page Number

a dialog box will appear showing you the way page numbers will be shown. Click on the FORMAT button on this small dialog. Now another small dialog comes, click on the radio button Start At and give 1 (one) as the tarting page number

click ok ok

Tada!!!! ur page numbers start from 1 on page 3 :D:D
