I wanted to get a henna kit for my birthday but I am afraid it might stain stuff(clothing, carpet, tile, etc. etc.). Does anyone know if it does stain (or not) and if so is there anything resistant to the henna?

I use henna on my hair, and yes, it does stain stuff. The trick is to wear old clothing (or do it in the bath while naked), and use old towels. I haven't noticed that it stains the tile -- but I clean up the henna IMMEDIATELY. And use vaseline to protect the skin you don't want hennaed. And you can use rubber gloves to protect your hands.

Just be very careful, and clean up anything immediately. You can use plastic yogurt tubs and chopsticks or something disposable to mix up the henna, too.

Henna will stain everything, seriously.. that's the point. Some surfaces can be saved if you get it up fast enough.. tile and your desk .. stuff like that. Clothes and carpet will be stained for life.

The fact that henna stains is the whole purpose!! Use vaseline to protect skin and be careful not to get it on the surfaces you mentioned except tiles which should be ok. The good news is, once youve created and applied your designs, waited for it to dry and washed the excess off it shouldnt stain anything else.

henna will stain anything practically, that`s its purpose. to stain your skin to get the affect of a real tattoo, in a way, just don`t move around much and touch things whenever you have it exposed, and cover the counter in some newspaper to prevent it. and have everyone wear old clothes that don`t mean a lot to you..like old t shirts....then i would reccomend sitting still until your henna is dried and it has come off of your skin.
i really hop you like my answer and it helps you!
don`t shy away from something if you think it`ll stain!

It will stain just like any dye whether permanent or semi-permanent on a cloth item but can be wiped from a surface. Just be careful by using gloves and a towel you can throw away afterwards. No worries.
