Ok guys I got problems:

My brother accidentally unleashed a virus on to our computer. It corrupted our antivirus/firewal, as well as System Restore, the search system, the installer program, and I'm sure a ton of others.

Obviously I don't have very many options for fixing this. I can't use a virus scanner because the one I have was messed up and I'm not able to install/download any others because the installers were hit. I can't use system restore because that's down too. I can't even look for the virus manually because the file searcher is down.

I really really reaaalllly need some help here. Any ideas would be welcome.

Heres a little guide i made.. But i suggest to do the Online scans
I would suggest Windows OneCare Live (do seperate scans. Just click Clean Up, Tune Up, Protection on the left.) Because your scanners are corrupted, use online scanners. They cant be corrupted

(Please note scans may take long hours... So take a nap while scanning or do other things and turn off anything BESIDES the Computer to save energy. examples: Monitor, Speakers, anything that require energy)

First, do another scan with your virus protector and/or Internet Security

Then do other online scans

For Online Scans go to:

Windows: http://safety.live.com

Norton/Symantec: http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/home.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym&plfid=23&pkj=JTHVRSJRFSKLUKUMXCC

Mcafee: http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp

If you need spyware protection and removal, use these:

Ad-Aware SE Personal: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php

SuperAntiSpyware: http://www.superantispyware.com

Spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org/

AVG Free Anti-Spyware: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tpl/v5

Windows Defender: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

For Free Virus Protector, use:

AVG Free Anti-Virus: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

Avast (your choice): http://www.avast.com/eng/programs.html

Use any of these for safety scan, virus and spyware scan and removal. If all finds nothing, your computer is fine

you can try www.castlecops.com, they have a virus help forum where you will get help, and they have virus software you can download and install.

AVG also have a free virus scanner.

try booting to safe mode. That might get a few things working .

Good luck.

try trendmicro housecall. free online virus scanner. Also, does msconfig work? if so, run it and go to start up. look for processes there that are potential viruses. disable them and restart your computer. that will atleast shut the virus down so you can try to remove it and fix the damage.
