The song doesn't say "Lay me down
In the cold cauldron."
It is written in the Original Scottish Version with the first verse saying,
"Lay me doon in the caul caul groon
Whaur afore monie mair huv gaun
Lay me doon in the caul caul groon
Whaur afore monie mair huv gaun."
Which is translated in English as
"Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone
Lay me down in the cold cold ground
Where before many more have gone."

But on the soundtrack he says,
"Lay me doon in the caul caul groon
Whaur afore monie mair huv gaun.
Then he skips two verses of the orignal song and says ,
"Ains a year say a prayer faur me
Close yir een an remember me."
Which is in English,
" Once a year say a prayer for me
Close your eyes and remember me."

i know part of the lyrics go something akin to this:

Lay me down
In the cold cauldron
