I'm considering writing a fictional series of stories about a man and an extraterrestrial woman who join together to solve mysteries, they are detectives. I'm wondering if there are any tv shows/movies/fiction which are already out there that seems similar to this? I don't want to copy something someone's already done.

The only scenario I know of that even comes close to this is
My Stepmother is An Alien
and that didn't have the "solving mysteries" thing even close by !!
I remember seeing a couple of very early TV things where astronaut dudes meet up with alien women while on a mission
And you have the standard stuff that was made of the "love connection" material used on shows like Star Trek and Battlestar Gallactica etc

each and each kin or couple has their unique relationship. some men are somewhat and permit their females be the 'boss' which you would be able to talk. those men think of they're stupid or are frightened of woman, he needs a kick on the yet and a few jabs of testostorone; if he knew to any extent further perfect he might understand woman are around each and every nook. some men proceed to be the spectacular determination maker and that they take their companions opinion. those men a ok yet border on administration freaks, so in different words lack sturdy communication skills. the conventional guy is conscious while speaking with a woman he could convey his opinion and take hers and the two could arise with a call. guy and woman could anticipate their roles and supply and take. guy isn't the boss of each and every thing yet that doesn't supply any woman to declare IM THE BOSS...the way my chum places it, in my homestead, no person wears the pants! lol

No, you can't copy something whose existence you don't know of.
It doesn't matter whether there are similar stories or not, people have been writing love poems for thousands of years, but HOW they write them now is different from HOW they used to write them some time ago.

been done in sci-fi a few hundred times ( maybe done well 10 times ) sorry i can't think of any titles not my type of sci-fi but i have memories of at least two novels - search a sci-fi site ( human and alien detective teams )
good news is 95% of sci-fi is derivative yet it is still just fine after all how many western movies are original ? and they keep on coming
