sOuL dOcToR and David S are right on target. Anyone who gave them a negative rating is an obvious moron. Look at sOuL dOcToR's rating - look at how many times his answers were chosen as best answers. Look at the subject he knows and understands.

Homeopathy uses the premise that the body is a self-healing and self-regulating entity. Furthermore it implores the use of treatments which treat the body as a whole.

The body is indeed both self-healing and self-regulating. Self-healing means that if you cut your finger, there will be an influx of white blood cells which rush to the site to initiate healing. Self-regulating implies that the body does well to upkeep a process called "homeostasis". An example would be the homeostasis of temperature. There are cooling techniques when a body becomes too hot and there are heating processes when a body is too cold.

And why treat the body as anything less than a whole?

Take chiropractic for example. When someone complains of pain, and they go to the medical doctor, they're more than likely going to ask a few questions, scratch their head and say, "Here are some muscle relaxers and here are some pain killers". Problem solved right? Wrong. What happens when those drugs run out? You're left with holes in your pocket and the original problem is still there usually.

A chiropractic doctor will find out what is causing the problem. Most of the time (but not all of the time), the pain is coming from ligaments, tendons, bones, muscles, skin, or nerves. A chiropractor is going to do differentiation tests to determine what tissue(s) is/are causing the pain. Then they're going to diagnose the level. They're going to treat the problem, not the symptom. Because if the problem is eliminated, so is the symptom.

If you are driving and your "Service Engine Soon" light turns on are you going to:
a) ignore it
b) put tape over the light
c) snip the cord that feeds the light bulb for the light
d) find out what the problem is and fix it

I sure hope you picked d.

Medical doctors and "Scientists" sometimes refer to chiropractic or other homeopathic remedies as "Quackery" like the person who names him/herself "The observer" (below) does. It is simply pure ignorance which would conjure such a response.

Chiropractors are talented and treat with their minds. Medical doctors can be very talented but too many are way too influenced by the pharmaceutical companies and rely on their opinions for "treatment". They treat with a pad of paper and do what the pharmaceutical companies say.

When a patient ends up in my care, I'm astonished to see how little their MD's have explained to them about the drugs they take and how little they follow up on them. Drug interactions, counterindications, missed diagnoses, these are things I see daily and when we wonder why the baby boomers are so ill, maybe we need to focus less on what is going on at home and look more to what is going in to their prescription bags.

Does that answer your question?

As for Opus (below) - he has no logic or reason to support any of his claims that Homeopathy is 'pure quackery'. In the Wilkes-Barre trial in the 70s, it was actually ruled that such namecalling regarding medical professions and professionals would not be tolerated (so watch your tongue opus). I think that when a solution is presented which violates the beholder's expectations, they find comfort in ignorant statements because they don't know the answer and are extremely jealous that someone else does.

If you would depend a lot on the aliment ...what works for some will not work for others...sometimes strong medications and quick response is needed in treating certain illnesses ...using Homoeopathic remedies may not be as effective or take to long to be effective for some type of illnesses....for minor issues homeopathy is fine.. but I would be hesitant to advise these methods to anyone who has serious issues...and using these methods as a last resort when all else has failed would also be fine......

as far as Homeopathy having a place in the medical world it does and will continue well into the future to be an important part in treating various aliments...but it will not take the place of traditional medicines anytime soon .....in my opinion

just a side note...In the town I live in ...Osteopaths has pretty much taken over...but if I am given a choice between going to see a MD or an Osteopath I would choice the MD any day..........

Homeopathy if simply another form of healing. A natural form of medicine. From what i know...instead of simply relieving the symptoms from an illness like basic general medicine, homeopathy identifys the root of the problem and using herbal means, attempt to heal the body from within. In attempts at addressing your mind and body so that the entire body is healed - not just the illness.

How could a few molecules in the water remain effective?
That's why the large majority of scientists attribute this to the Placebo Effect because it does not pass the double blind clinical study.

Generally, HP practitioners has negative experiences with conventional drugs.. they even advised sick people not to take any drug except HP I think it's a bit too much. It is like throwing the baby together with the bath water. ... Even the director of the The Royal London Homeopathic Hospital condemned this practice:

"I'm very angry about it because people are going to get malaria - there is absolutely no reason to think that homeopathy works to prevent malaria and you won't find that in any textbook or journal of homeopathy so people will get malaria, people may even die of malaria if they follow this advice.". Clinical studies have shown benefits with homeopathy on coma patients, infants and animals. It's hard to describe it as a placebo effect when you have data like that.

Pure quackery. Placebo effect. Has never been shown to do anything.

"Homeopathy is the only form of medicine which Cures, and by Cures I mean CURES 100% without any side effects or complications. Homeopathy is the new school of smart medicine which the old goats of conventional medicines have just started to realise and its is on the threshold of becoming the main stream, by the Grace of the Almighty."

If you believe this garbage, there's a bridge in Brooklyn that I'd like to sell you.
NOTHING works 100% of the time and everyone knows it. And invoking "the Grace of the Almighty" won't change that fact.

Edit: Placebo effect is present in ALL testing - in coma patients, in infants, and in animals. That argument does not hold water. Not even shaken (succussed) water.

Homeopathy is the Art of Healing and it is a total Beauty. Homeopathy is the only form of medicine which Cures, and by Cures I mean CURES 100% without any side effects or complications. Homeopathy is the new school of smart medicine which the old goats of conventional medicines have just started to realise and its is on the threshold of becoming the main stream, by the Grace of the Almighty. Now we get cured without the drastic effects of stupid conventional medice and can be really healthy. In my more then two decades of practice I have treated and cured almost evey disease and disorder without any hassles, side effects or complications with these Awesome remedies. The skeptics can have their views, since They cannot see, percieve or comprehend any better. My heartfelt sympathies to the old goats of medicine who are too set in their outdated evil ways of drastic medication which can make us sicker then what we were before taking them instead of getting better. For more please visit these sites and pay no attention to the moron who has nothing better to do then copy paste the URL to http://www.quackwatch.org :-) which is a totally stupid biased site which the pharmaceutical industry has financed to spread disinformation about Homeopathy and Alternative medicine.

Take care and God Bless You
