Most sand is made of Silicon dioxide (quarts or chalcedony), but other minerals including feldspars, lithics (including basalts), and minerals like ilmenite, magnetite and gypsum.

Quartz is used for making glass. Magnetite is a form of Iron ore. Gypsum has been used to make plaster of Paris.

It is difficult to separate the components of sand physically. Sieves just separate by size, but by mineral. Mineral acids (like HCl) have been used to remove Iron oxide and Carbonates from Quartz sand.

Sand is not a mineral itself but is made up of small grains of quartz (SiO2). Sand can contain other minerals, such as bits of feldspars. Separation is done by sieves, although modern machinery does the same job in a matter of seconds. Very pure sand is used to make glass. I don't know of any web sites for you.

Out of a hundred men one reads the bible. The other ninety-nine read the man. You are of the other ninety-nine! Go to the source and read what the Christ Jesus taught. Do not lay claims to Christianity by the histories of fools and egotistical men. When we live "the way" our Christ taught then there will be peace. Isn't it obvious we aren't living the life we should? Don't fault the Christ for that, lay the blame on the men who abused the teachings and did evil in God's name.
