their last album was in summer 2004 and I was wondering if they were planning on a new album any time soon? I know Corey released a Stone Sour album but when is SlipKnot making their return?

They released their DVD "Voliminal: Inside the Nine" late 2006. Stone Sour is currently scheduled to tour through May. Most likely they will pick up another tour for the summer also when festivals and such are announced. The other members are focusing on their other projects.
It will probably be 2008 if not 2009 before Slipknot will release a new album.

I think I have an answer to that. I'm a huge Slipknot fan, so I should know this lol. Well, right now all the guys are in the studio working out the songs that they recorded last year. 9.0: Live is the first live album by Slipknot. It was released on November 1, 2005 (see 2005 in music). The album features tracks from all of Slipknot's past three commercial albums plus some rare tracks, such as "Purity" and "Get This". It also includes their first ever live performance of the Iowa track "Skin Ticket".

The lines "protecting myself alive by way of your empathy" and "come see my cage geared up in my grave" continuously dig applicable under my dermis. The music creeps me out and blows my strategies on the comparable time. Slipknot at their ultimate for my section.
