A "professional" disregarded my instructions and tweezed my eyebrows too thin (and ugly and uneven) including the top! I'm in my 40s so they're probably ruined forever. Is there a point in complaining - she can't "fix" them. Can I sue?!! Its been several months of using Rogaine and I am so miserable!

Someone tweezing your eyebrows one time isn't going to stop their growing back. It just takes some time for them to grow back all at the same time. Really, many of us have tweezed too much a time or two. I used to tweeze my own eyebrows so they were no wider than one hair...very thin. That was in my early 40's. Now, 10 years later...they'll still grow together, thick and bushy if I let them. I no longer have the thin brows...I finally got a brain, looked in a mirror and let them grow....and they did.

Don't sue. That's not even an option anyone should do. Its an honest mistake. A very honest mistake. These ladies don't make that much money and she did something you could have done yourself. Its ok to be upset, but she didn't scar you. And, never use Rogaine - that's not the right product for an eyebrow problem. If you've started using it you'll really have problems when you stop.

Many of us have pulled a few eye lashes out with the eyelash curlers...that's a treat of a look as well. Still, lashes and brows do grow back.

Your eyebrows will grow in. Just don't pick at them or tweeze them at all. In the meantime, find an eyebrow pencil or brow powder and create the brow you want until they do grow in...and they will.

I didn't mean to sound harsh but I get a little defensive when people want to sue their hairstylist or esthetician over something that is easily corrected with time or another product. And, like mine, your eyebrows will grow back.

This is hardly a trait constrained to Mexican women, as some Oriental women and lots of goth/alt-type people do it too. I don't get it either, but when the topic came up in conversation once, what someone said was, "They must just really hate their old eyebrows... if they had any to begin with." In terms of women of certain ethnicities do it, I can only hypothesize. Mexican and Oriental women often have very similar eyebrows - sparse, covering a large area, and black. The sparseness over a large area makes it difficult to pluck the brows, as they would be left with very little anyway. Finding a black eyebrow pencil to match their brows would be difficult, as matching synthetic black shades (eg dye) to hair tends to look really fake. They probably don't want that constrast highlighted, and so just eliminate their pencil's competition, considering it the only way to get the brows they want. That's my theory. I personally think it looks like a freak show technique. Don't do it, ladies! Appreciate your natural brows!

Draw them on every day.

Or get a gig on Star Trek, the Vulcans had jacked up eyebrows but did okay.

You could complain and get your money back. You should also never ever let her touch your eye brows again. Ask around in your group of friends and co-workers to see where they go and find someone better. In the mean time invest in an eye brow pencil.

Only a weak minded twit would sue over something like that. Get an eyebrow pencil and be glad you have the money to get silly stuff like that done.

Yikes! You can file a complaint. Check with the cosmo board from your state, there should be instructions on how to do it there.

You could go talk to her and see what she has to say. She may know someone who can tattoo them for you. You can suggest that she pay for it or something. There are ways to sue someone for damaging hair, skin or eyebrows. You have to prove how it has damaged you which sometimes can be difficult.

I know how miserable bad eyebrows can be- I had mine tattooed so I can have them the way I want.
Good luck and you have my sympathy.

I would sure try a lawsuit. Many lawyers will take a case like this on % basis. Worth a try. Meanwhile, check out www.nu-brow.com , I ordered false eyebrows from them and they look pretty good. I think they were about $30.

One waxing or tweezing will not permanently remove your hair. Even lasers don't get it all out the first time.

So, you'd better come up with a better story if you want to sue.
