I really like my birds, but now i dont seem to interact with them, because i worry too much, does anyone no if it does harm them, like how fragile they are to stuff?

When I was a kid, my family had 4 budies; oh, how I hated the little noise makers. Anyway, they were handled ALL the time. Your previous two birds must have been ill to have died so abruptly. It likely had nothing to do with you handling them. Don't be afraid, enjoy them! LOL

I have a budgie that has been handled since I got him, over 5 years ago. I worked slowly, only a few minutes a day at first, getting him used to perching on a small dowel rod I would hold. Whenever I was around him, I would talk to him. Eventually I got him to perch on my finger. I never clipped his wings, so I would offer him some fly time during the day. If you do this, make sure doors and windows are closed. Oh, millet sprays are a special treat for budgies, and can be used to help train them to perch on your finger. Hope some of this helps.

Please, handle your birds. It makes their lives better. Here is a great site on raising and caring for budgies. http://www.tailfeathersnetwork.com/birdinformation/budgies.php

I'm sorry that your last birds died suddenly. They may have come in contact with something toxic, been exposed to TEFLON fumes which are toxic, or may have been sick. Letting them out of their cage under normal circumstances should not kill them.

If the process is done slowly with the birds adapting to flighing around it would be good for them and much more enjoyable for you. Start opening the cage door for a hour and slowly get them use to it.

you can handle them just don't squeeze them let them grab nto your finger like a perch a put your thumb over the op so it doesn't fly away. Make sure they're not in a drafty area so they don't catch chill it can kill a parakeet fast
