No, and the reason is that the book lets your mind narrate. Although you are still going on a journey in the same way a movie directs you, but it is catered to your preferances. If it says he was dressed stunningly, it is based off of what YOU find stunning etc... When you watch a movie, nothing visual is left to the imagination, and we all know that your own imagination is better than any graphic effect can ever make.

Sometimes. I just saw Gone With The Wind. Even though it left out a lot of parts (It had to do the sheer enormosity of the book), the movie was still very good. Vivian Leigh and Clark Gable were perfect for the parts as Scarlett O' Hara and Rhett Butler

no! never is! the movie "The notebook" isn't even close to the book the movie messed up the end of the freaking book they had it all wrong! and people thought i was cold hearted cause i never cry on that movie...come on i read the book and cried!

Yes, it usually is better than the book........but then again I was never a huge fan of reading to begin with.
