Project Gutenberg is the place for free public-domain literature. In addition, if you would like to listen to the book, or maybe instead of reading it with your eyes, then Librivox is your answer. It is also entirely free, with all books read by volunteers. I've included a links for you to Pride and Prejudice. Enjoy a world of information and entertainment at the click of a key.

There is a great site called Librivox you can find it at www.librivox.org It has free downloads of many of the old classics which are out of copyright, and as such are able to be done. There are several Austen novels and they are updating weekly.
PS Oops, I should have read the previous answers. The person before me has also given this excellent site.

The public library near you might have it. I know that Phoenix Public has an e-book section on their website, and they have a free audio version.
