why is that when someone sends me an e-mail with a picture that is supposed to go along with it... it does not show up? it says something about a bitmap? how do i get the picture to show up? and when i send it to other people they as well cannot see the picture that goes along with it.

A bitmap is an image, much like a Jpeg or Gif. Your computer may not have a picture viewer that handles bitmaps. The file extension for a bitmap is .bmp.
So if you download a picture called Example.bmp...that is a bitmap.
A viewer that I use, and I love is called Irfanview. You can download it fast and its easy to use. Go to www.irfanview.com and get a free one. During the installation, you will be asked which file types you want to assoicate with that program. Check only the .jpeg, jpg, gif and bmp. Then after installation, everytime you get a picture with those extensions, irfanview will open it for you.
Another problem could be the ISP blocking images that are too large. You might check the settings with them to see what their file attachment limit is.
