I will not disagree with you. Hendrix was in a class of his own; Page is the consummate rocker; and Clapton is a class act that can play anything well. I too love guitar, and I will only add a few greats that you should listen to if you haven't (or haven't in a while):
Albert King - Blues
BB King - Blues
Robert Johnson - Blues
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Blues/Rock
Warren Haynes - Blues/Rock
Duane Allman - Blues/Rock
Buddy Guy - Blues/Rock
Jeff Beck - Rock
Eddie Van Halen - Rock
Steve Howe - Rock
David Gilmour - Rock
Mark Knopfler - Rock
George Benson - Jazz
Django Reinhardt - Jazz
Charlie Christian - Jazz
Chet Atkins - Country
Roy Clark - Country
Ottmar Liebert - New Age/Flamenco

Jimi, Leo Kottke (check out his album 6 & 12 string) Eric until he started playing prom fodder. SRV, David Gilmour. Depends on my moods. Been up almost 24 hours now. Will return when brain is functioning and can remember the next generation like Doyle Bramhall (sp) A Green from Big Sugar, Ken Andrews etc

Eric Clapton is excellent for blues, Santana's probably may favorite for technique (virtuosity...he's a maniac) Lindsey Buckingham's latest CD (Under the Skin) demonstrates his outstanding acoustic playing (it's unreal). David Gilmour's latest CD (On An Island) demonstrates his beautifully melodic, lyrical, expressive soloing.

If you're looking at "Rock 'n Roll", then many say that it is Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. Mr. Page himself had once said it was Phil Keaggy, a contemporary Christian artist.
